Brand OS · Brand System v1.1

The GreenRoom Look

Blackout ground, GreenRoom Green at the core, Signal for links and the tagline, Cue amber as the warm signal — and warm Spotlight paper inside the working tools. Everything on this page is the source of truth for how GreenRoom looks; the full spec is Brand/greenroom/brand-sheet.md.

Status: v1.1 was built in Claude Design from DJ's revision brief and adopted 2026-07-29 — same colours, logos, and type as v3, plus the icon legibility tune, the Flag alert red, the Pulse Row and glass specs, the button family, and the 14-pattern UI library. The full interactive document is the Brand System tab. Earlier systems (cream v1, Marquee Night v2, the bulb suite, v3) are archived, never deleted. Production suite: Brand/greenroom/brand-system-v1.1/ in the repo.

01 · The Logo

The Capsule Mark

A microphone capsule tapering to a locating point, cut twice at -36° — that angle recurs through every motif in the system. Presented on a glass tile; wordmark in Schibsted Grotesk 800 with the tagline in Signal. Six files cover every job; never rebuild these by hand.

02 · The Motifs

The Marquee Lights, And The -36° Family

Nothing here was invented after the logo. The capsule's -36° cut is the whole motif set: the tick, the divider, the rake, the cue glow. The marquee lights are the one piece of motion the brand owns, and they now run on every page of the site and this hub.

Marquee lights · .gr-bulbs

Eight bulbs, each on a brand colour, flashing on a staggered 3.4s cycle so the rail reads as a sign and never as a strobe. Sizes: .sm (7px, chrome and rails), default (9px), .lg (12px, heroes). Colour order is fixed: Cue, Signal, violet, Cue, blue, GreenRoom Green, amber, Signal. It disables itself under prefers-reduced-motion.

Never recolour a single bulb by hand, never speed the cycle up, and never put the rail on light paper — the glow only works on a dark ground.

Source files: Brand/greenroom/brand-system-v1.1/03-glyph/. The lights are CSS, not an asset — they live in Website/greenroom/assets/css/site.css and Hub/_shared/brain.css, defined identically in both.

03 · The Colour

Nine Colours, Three Contexts

Dark-first, but not dark-only. Cue amber is light rather than paint: it marks what glows. GreenRoom Green is the brand at rest and Signal is the brand speaking, on dark grounds only. There is no red in the brand.

Functional Data Set (tools only)

These are not brand colours. They exist so a chart, a pipeline stage, or a stat tile can be told apart at a glance inside the CRM and the directory. They never appear in marketing copy or on the logo.

ContextGroundHow it is built
Dark — marketing site, this hub#08110FSpotlight type, Signal links, Cue accents, the marquee lights. The live pulse is Cue amber.
Light — working tools: CRM, directory, app#F7F3EAWhite cards, Blackout ink, Deep Green labels and links, a dark Backstage sidebar as the anchor. Stat tiles use the functional set.
PrintPaperCMYK and Pantone in palette-print.txt. One-colour jobs use the 100% K mono icon; Cue never carries type.
The one hard limit on green: nothing yellower or brighter than Signal. Past roughly hue 150° the name stops reading as backstage and starts reading as cannabis.

04 · The Type

Three Voices

All three are open source under the SIL Open Font License and served from Google Fonts, so nothing needs licensing and nothing falls back to Arial.

SCHIBSTED GROTESK 800 · DISPLAY

Every comedy club, in one place.

Headlines and the wordmark. Mixed case, always, tracking about -2% to -3.8%. Never force-uppercased, never body copy.

05 · The Rules

Do And Never

DoNever
Use the files in Brand/greenroom/logo/ as they areRecolour, stretch, shadow, or hand-rebuild the mark
Let Deep Green carry green type on light and on paperPut Cue amber under text on white, or in print type
Keep Signal for dark grounds: links, the tagline, accentsUse Signal as type on Spotlight paper: it fails contrast
Set display type in Schibsted Grotesk 800, mixed case, tightForce display type to uppercase, or set body copy in it
Reserve uppercase and letterspacing for JetBrains Mono labelsUppercase headlines or paragraph text
Keep greens at or below Signal in hue and brightnessAny cannabis-adjacent green
Signal "live" with the Cue amber pulseIntroduce red as a brand colour: red is alerts only
Give the icon 0.55 icon-heights of clear spaceCrowd it against edges, type, or other logos
Reach for a tokenHardcode a hex that already has a token
Retired systems are archived, never deleted, and never mixed into new work: the cream v1 tokens and the Marquee Night v2 set (#0F1D17, #F5B942, #3ECF8E) live in Archive/. If you find one in live code, it is a bug.

06 · Production Files

What Exists, And Where

The full v1.1 suite is 60 deliverables in Brand/greenroom/brand-system-v1.1/, mirrored into this hub so every link below is a real download.

04-platformFavicons 16 and 32, apple-touch 180, PWA 192 and 512, two 512 avatars
05-marketingBrand sheet canvas, business card, QR flyer, email signatures. The OG card was deliberately left out of v1.1 — the installed site og.png stays until the site is done
05-printThe CMYK and Pantone reference
06-webThe favicon SVG and the web manifest
Three files are not on disk: the A4 QR flyer, the brand sheet canvas, and the business card. They exceeded the transfer limit and have to be exported straight from the Claude Design project when needed. The flyer's QR code also has to be regenerated once the domain is bought.
